Smart Kinder Care Preschool

Our program is designed to help each child individually, to get prepared and confident for Kindergarten!
Our program runs Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm and is designed for 2-5-year old children in a mixed age group. Breakfast, lunch and snack are served daily. The benefits of a 5-day preschool program are that the children have a daily routine which they thrive on, they feel more comfortable in a group setting, and the bonds between their peers become stronger.
Smart Kinder Care Preschool operates with 2 teachers and we have 16 years of experience in early childhood development, we offer a curriculum with a weekly changing theme that promotes the following skills in an age appropriate fun way...
Social Skills - circle time, imaginative play, organized group activities, free independent learning time, taking turns, conversations
Cognitive Skills - paying attention, memory and thinking, following directions, making age appropriate decisions during independent learning time
Literacy Skills- letter recognition, beginning sounds of letters, name recognition, reading and writing, story time
Early Math Skills - number recognition, counting, problem solving, patterns, shapes, music
Prewriting Skills - learning how to hold a pencil, crayon or marker, draw, write, copy, color, trace
Emotional Development - self-awareness, independence, relationships with their peers, awareness of others feelings, respect for one another, exception of the word "no" from peers and teachers
Sensory Play - arts and crafts, playdough, finger painting, sensory table, sand box, outdoor play
Life Skills - crossing the street safely, helping with daily child appropriate tasks, independent grooming and toileting, learning to follow directions and rules in a preschool setting
Fine and Gross Motor Skills - beading, stickers, coloring, gluing, puzzles, safe use of scissors, going for walks to the neighborhood playgrounds, running trails and playing in our big back yard
Safety - fire safety, bad weather safety, street safety, dog safety, food safety, learning to use the "learning tools" at preschool safely (scissors, glue, beads, string, science equipment etc.)
We also send daily pictures and a small report on what our preschoolers worked on, learned and had fun with.
Our private preschool is located just west of the Jordan Creek Mall in WDM. Two blocks west of the Brookview Elementary School.
