Shining Stars Family Preschool provides childcare in a preschool setting for little ones ages three to five. Our goal is not only to prepare children for kindergarten, but also create an environment that encourages them to spread their wings and shine.
Our Little Dippers Class (ages 3-4) focuses on a preschool curriculum that invites children to learn through play, discovery and imagination. They are introduced to a structured daily schedule that includes academic lessons as well as opportunity to engage in art, music and dramatic play.
Our Big Dippers Class (ages 4-5) is designed as a pre-kindergarten class. In addition to time for art, music and dramatic play throughout the day, children will be transitioned into structured instruction. They will practice extended seatwork to encourage school readiness. Lessons will include handwriting, letter formation, reading, and math (to name a few).
Both classes will get to spend time outdoors playing and exploring. All students can take advantage of healthy snacks and meals that we prepare throughout the day, or you can provide them if you wish. Following lunch all kids are encouraged to have quiet time to nap, relax or look at books in our reading corner. We understand that all children are different when it comes to napping, and we can work with you to develop a routine that works for your family.
