Sharpe Kids Center

Hello! We are the Sharpe's and owners and founders of Kids Sharpe Center. We have been working with children and families for over 25 years. We are both educators by training and have a heart for children and families. We believe every child is smart and believe that social-emotional, spiritual and academic development is important and is best developed in an environment of mutual trust and respect. We believe that growing the WHOLE child is key to the lifelong success of a human being. With the right individualized coaching, teaching and support - each child can have success in every area of development! Every child is different and each child deserves to be educated and loved in a way that brings out the best in them. We have a family environment, where we treat your child as one of our own.
Our PRESCHOOL program serves children, 2-5 years of age. We have a very low ratio. Two adults to 6 children.
Our kindergarten readiness program supports our our students so that they enter kindergarten prepared, physically, emotionally, cognitively. Language development is a crucial part of kindergarten success! Our philosophy is emergent, meaning we believe children learn best when they are interested in what they are learning. Learning happens when it is hands on. Rote memorization is not learning. We focus on premath, prereading and prescience experiences that will prepare children for kindergarten but also feel like they are playing. We use the Spell, Read, to Write language program and the STEM program for math and science. We design an individualize program for your child so that they are prepare for the kindergarten they will be attending. We use formal and informal assessment tools to insure that your child is on track.
In addition to our academic subjects, we provide art and music experiences, field trips, Spanish, health and nutrition education and character education. We value community and our first priority is that each child feels respected and respects others. Community is important and young children need to learn the skills necessary to successfully resolve conflicts, make good choices and understand logical consequences. This takes lots of practice! We use the Love and Logic approach to discipline.
We feel that partnering with parents is important in order to insure that we are a team working together towards your child's goals. We offer parent workshops and one-one-one parent coaching and resources for our parents. We also provide opportunities for parents to be part of our program by participating in various volunteer opportunities. Parents are the most important teachers and their involvement is key to the success of our program.
Their is no other program in the county that provides a family environment with the benefits of care and education that is the highest quality. We look forward to meeting you and your little one!
