I have been playing the violin for over 40 years. I teach classical technicalities and fiddle genres, stressing auditory and sight reading, tone, intonation, rhythm and improvisation skills that one doesn't get with classical training. I am a performing musician also and can train how to be engaging to an audience. The main genres I focus on are Irish, Scottish, Bluegrass, Old-Time and Swing. Mostly, I try to make the experience fun and direct the student to applications that they can use to implement their newfound skills.
I also run a monthly jam on the second Sunday of the month for skill levels of all ages playing primarily fiddle tunes. This is one of the many ways a student can enrich their learning and meet others. I have been hosting jams, workshops, and concerts since 2000.
I offer 30 minute lessons for $25 and one hour lessons for $40. If lessons are prepaid, I offer a 20% discount. I take credit card, check, and cash.
