Are you looking for a birth doula, postpartum doula, or placenta encapsulation? If so, look no further.

It is an honor for me to serve the families of Los Angeles as a DONA Certified doula and placenta encapsulation specialist. To be welcomed into such an intimate, life-changing event, to be a part of the team of caregivers as families prepare for their new arrival, and to continue with that care after the baby is born is truly a privilege.

I attend births in a hospital, birth center, or home birth setting and these births can be drug-free, medicated, or emergency or planned cesarean. I want to offer the tools for comfort and focus that I've learned through training and experience and work closely with families as they enter into the exhilarating work of parenting.

As a postpartum doula, I support the parents and help them decide what type of support they will need. Some families need educational support: breastfeeding, infant support, and how to care for the new mother. Others rely more on the non-judgmental emotional support that the postpartum doula offers. Still others have more practical needs - like feeding the family, having the house cleaned up a bit, or an extra pair of hands to help with baby while the new parents rest and recover from the tiring work of childbirth. Most families find that their doulas adapt to the families changing need.

In Bengali, "Shanti" means Tranquility. And as we work together in this most special time to embrace labor, birth, and beyond with tranquility, it is my sincere hope that my presence brings you peace and comfort. I will do my best to help you carry those feelings throughout our time together and to help you to share those feelings with others. Having a doula will add an element of calm, focus and support to your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period.
