MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Miss Shannon's Family Child Care is to provide quality child care by providing a warm loving home. Every child is treated as if they were family. Each child is made to feel important, valued, and loved so they can develop positive relationships. Educational activities that stimulate a child's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development are incorporated into the daily routine.

PHILOSOPHY
I believe children learn best when they:
*are given age appropriate and individually appropriate educational activities
*are in a safe and healthy environment in which they can thrive
*are supported and nurtured in all areas of their development
*are encouraged to develop at their own pace
*have a consistent child care provider and schedule
*receive support and encouragement from parents and caregivers working together as partners

GOALS
*Plan and carry out weekly themed lesson plans for all different ages in care
*Teach shapes, colors, letters, numbers, and songs through a variety of means
*Hold yearly conferences with parents
*Prepare all children for kindergarten
*Encourage outdoor learning and exploring experiences
*Plan and follow the state's food program guidelines when making and serving meals and snacks
*Communicate daily with families both written and verbally
*Continually develop relationships with the families
*Stick to a set schedule with room for flexibility
