Sequoia Children's Center

We are a fully accredited and licensed Children's Center offering care and early education for ages 6 months to 5 years. Programs offered: infant and wobblers, young toddlers, preschool for 2s, preschool for 3s, preschool for young 4s, and Pre-Kindergarten for children who are 4 by Dec. 1. We employ developmentally appropriate practices, emphasizing active learning through play, exploration, and discovery; social interaction with peers and adults, and hands on activities. Our curriculum is based on what is known about early childhood development, beginning with infants and building through preschool using Baby Signs, Learning Games, Creative Curriculum, and High Scope Curriculum. For the preschool classes, we also follow guidance by the CA Dept. of Education for developing children's social-emotional and cognitive skills for successful transition to kindergarten. We also bring in a multitude of enrichment classes during the week, without added fees: American Sign Language, Spanish Immersion Circle Time, Traveling Librarian, Music, Gymnastics and Soccer.

We support social emotional skills by promoting attitudes of respect, cooperation, and the understanding that each child's differences make them unique and special. We celebrate the the diversity of our families and we support the development of each child in self-confidence, self-help skills, respect for others, curiosity, and a love for reading and learning.
