Science And Simple Living Camp

Summer day camp for children ages 4-7, at my home in northern Cape May County, to casually explore different subjects of science and simple, healthy living and developing observational and critical thinking skills with weekly themes including paleontology, building, fun chemistry, oceans, woodlands, museums and simple living (gardening, taking care of backyard chickens and cooking). Weekly, topic related, local field trips a possibility with parent consent and, of course, related crafts, intermittent play time and healthy snacks throughout the day. I have a NJ teacher's certificate in biology obtained through a science education program at Rutgers University, a bachelor's degree in Evolutionary Anthropology, a master's degree in Paleontology and many varied experiences working as a biologist, teaching Biology and Anatomy and Physiology at a community college, an afterschool STEM teacher for kids ages 5-17, Children's librarian, a teen mentor, afterschool program Montessori teacher, training in Project Wild/Wet in addition to many years of dino field digs! Most importantly, my two daughters, ages 5 and 7, have also taught me a great deal. My CPR certification will be current at the end of May. The camp will run from July 5-August 26, 2016, M-F, 8am-3pm, with the possibility of extended hours. Weekly registration, $50/day. Possibility to register for single days if roster is not filled by weekly registered participants near time of need. Participants can bring lunch or a healthy lunch can be provided for $2. Capacity is limited to 5 participants a day so please don't hesitate to book your child! My daughters and I are looking forward to meeting you and can hardly wait to go exploring!
