Background about myself:
I am a graduate of Clarion University with dual bachelor's degrees. I hold two current PA teaching certificates, one in Early Childhood Education and the other in Elementary Education. I have a variety of experiences with children. I just submitted everythin for my STAR 1 accreditaton for the Keystone Stars Program. I am currently finishing everything I need to become a STAR 2 facility. I regularly attend professional development trainings. (As much as 2 per month lately) I am constantly trying to better myself and my profession. Now I am proud to say I will constantly be looking for ways to better my program day by day. I am also a current member of The National Association for the Education of Young Children. (NAEYC)
Background about my staff:
Darlene Beaver is my secondary staff person. She is my mother and has had a vast amount of experience with children. (Over 35 years) She is currently enrolled in a Child Development Associates Degree program and will be getting her degree in the first part of 2014. I cannot be more proud of her for going back to school to better herself and our program. Words cannot express my gratitude.
Our program will take on a Creative Curriculum. Everyday is a new day to learn something amazing! Children's little minds grow so much within their childhood. I cannot wait to implement age appropriate lessons with the children at SBFCC. I truly believe children learn through play and first hand experience in the world around them. Most, if not all, of my activities will be child directed. (We will learn about what the children are interested in!) This allows learning to be meaningful to children.
We are also enrolled in the local CCIS program, for any qualifying families that may be intersted in our services.
CCIS is subsidized assistance for families to help pay for their child care. Not all child care providers offer this, so be sure to call the local CCIS office and ask about our child care.
