Reading Coach-DMV, teaches your child to read with accuracy and understanding.
According to U.S. Department of Education, only 35 percent of the nation's fourth graders performed at or above the proficient achievement level. (National Assessment of Educational Progress 2015.) This means that 65 percent of students are not reading on grade level. Reading Coach DMV was created to increase the Nation's percentage, one child at a time. We work with Kindergarten to 4th grade students. We believe proficient reading transform lives and empowers students and communities.
Program Focus:
-Alphabetic principle: include knowledge of letter name, sequence, and letter sounds
-Phonemic awareness: the ability to hear, identify, and play with individual sounds or phonemes in spoken words
-Phonics: the relationship between the letters of written language and the sounds of spoken language
-Fluency: the capacity to read text accurately and quickly
-Vocabulary: the words students must know to communicate effectively
-Comprehension: the ability to understand and gain meaning from what has been read.
Steps to Enrollment:
-Assessment/Evaluation (Alphabet, Sight Words, Phonics etc.)
-Placement in 1 of 3 levels (Levels A, B, or C)
-Reading Coach create-Instructional Plan
-Child receive individualized instructions to strengthen area of weakness.

-We are now accepting Pre K-4th grade students.

Most recently, Kamla worked for one of the most prestigious college preparatory day and boarding school in the DC area (Georgetown Preparatory School).
