About

I have a wonderful husband who is supportive of my dream of this new business. I have two beautiful children, my daughter (age 13) and my son (age 11) who is in the Autistic Spectrum. I am opening a new F/T in-home child care facility, ages birth to three years of age. Its hours of operation will be M-F 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. We have taken into consideration special arrangements under unique and unpreventable circumstances. All potential clients may come for an interview and if you choose our facility, paperwork may be filled out that day and put on file. I do have much special needs experience, even prior to my son's birth. I have been taking care of children for over 27 years. All have ranged between the ages of birth to 13. I also have experience with young adults and the elderly. I was in nursing for over 10 years, including hospitals, residential care and in nursing homes. I have worked in three day cares and one public school system (elementary school) as a paraprofessional. I have worked with many different illnesses and disorders. Here are some to list a few: ADD/ADHD, Aspergers/Autism, Asthma, Bi-Polar Disorder, Cancer, Cerebral Palsy, Chiari I Malformation, Cognitive Disabilities, Cystic Fibrosis, Deafness, Depression, Developmental Delays, Diabetes, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, Epilepsy (Tonic/Clonic, Myclonic, Atonic seizures), Failure to Thrive, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Food/Medication Allergies, Fragile X, Heart Disease, Mental Illness, Mobility Challenges, MS, Obesity, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Sensory Integration Disorder, Speech Delay, and Tourette Syndrome. There are more, but I would like to go on about the type of care I have provided in the past. I have performed the following: Ambulatory assistance/ Body Support & Lifting, Bathing/Grooming/Hygiene/Bed Bathing, Blood Sugar Testing/Insulin Injections, CPR/ First Aid, Diaper changing, Feeding, Repositioning, Respiratory Care and Seizure Care. I have ran errands and shopped for clients in the past, cleaned houses, kept laundry prepared meals and administered medications for clients/patients. Though I have a lot of experience behind me, I am very eager to learn more about new diagnoses and care skills. We would like to note that we will accept a service animal in the home if your child needs it. Otherwise, there are no inside pets in the home. I thank you in advance for reviewing my profile and look forward to caring for your child.
