At one time, I was authorized by DHR to keep a daycare in my home. A friend of mine wanted to start a daycare in her home and I had to offer a health screening and they performed a background check on me so that she could have appropriate help in case her husband's business took him out of town and she wanted to go with him. I have enjoyed caring and teaching children for 30 years. I have worked with hundreds of children during bible school, taught Sunday School, been the director of Acteens at my former church, and been the former children's minister at my current church. My love for children knows no bounds. I love to read to them, play with them, fix snacks for them, and dance with them. I appreciate being able to communicate their parents wishes to them without raising my voice. I know that if I could have finished my degree at the University of Alabama it would have been in early childhood development, or elementary education. Since we downsized our wholesale business in 2010, I have prayed that God would show me what He wants me to do. This is all I am interested in doing. Investing time in children is investing in our future.
