About Us
PCAL Pals is a specialized daycare program where young children can be exposed to a social setting but receive more attention and expertise to assist in their growth before entering school. As a subset of the Center for Applied Learning, our program caters to children who may struggle in a typical daycare model. With specially trained staff and an intense social and emotional approach, your child s long-term well-being is our #1 priority. We focus on establishing prerequisite social skills, so your child is prepared for a successful transition to Kindergarten.
The Pals program is a relaxing and caring environment that is dedicated to offer individualized attention but also provide an opportunity to develop meaningful relationships and experiences with peers.
How We Engage Children?
Recognizing the individual needs of each child (i.e. working on food and transitioning challenges, etc.)
Promoting social skills growth Teaching self-regulation and self-advocacy tools
Fostering each child s unique interests and strengths through group and individual activities
Mission
The Pals program focuses on the growth of the whole child through a play-based, creative, interactive programming. We promote this growth through a warm, engaging, and stimulating environment rooted in deep caring, and trusting relationships among staff, children, and families
Philosophy
PrideStar believes young children (ages 3-5) develop best through cooperative hands-on exploration and play, which is at the core of our program. Play develops qualities such as empathy, exibility, communication and capacity to collaborate which children need to lead happy, fulfillled lives. Cooperative play is a primary learning path at PCAL Pals. Our specialized environment provides ample opportunity for skill acquisition through play, to be applied to developing relationships. At this age, we believe that sitting and having a child count blocks doesn't compare to natural peer-supported activities and engagements. We want to capitalize on what engages children at this age so that they are excited for their future.
