Practical Life Guardian, Inc. is a small Licensed Private Home Daycare in Humboldt Pk. PLG, Inc. was established in September, 2007, by former NNM Montessori after school Supervisor and local Chicago Artist, Lucia Herrera.
Early Childhood Development, Special Needs, First Aid/Infant CPR and Montessori Paraprofessional Assistant are just a few of Lucia's Certifications as well as over 25 years hands on experience with children of all ages. PLG, Inc. is Montessori inspired, we accept ages 3 months - 5 years. We do full-time/part-time care and drop off dates. Practical Life Guardian, Inc. was created to provide a safe, private learning environment for infants and toddlers in the Humboldt Park Community.
Lucia Herrera was raised in Humboldt Pk. in the early 1970's and decided it was time to return and give back to this wonderful, diverse community. She is also involved with the Chicago Public Library, where she heads workshops for underprivileged children which helps mentor and support their inner talents.
