About

I have been licensed by Benton County as a Class C3 provider under Minnesota rule 502.0315 through 9502.0445. I am allowed to have a total of 14 children under the age of 11 in my care at one time. I have been certified in CPR, First Aid, Shaken Baby, SIDS, and Car seat training. I have taken over 900 hours of extra training and was involved in the Building Quality, BLEND, and Let's Move programs. I have received my BA in Child Development, the MN Child Care Credential, and the CDA (Child Development Associate Credential). I am currently working on getting Nationally Accredited and my Master's Degree. I will also be participating in Parent Aware.

I know it can be hard to find a child care provider so I wish you all the best in your search! I run my daycare with "loose" structure. What I mean by that is I have a schedule, but I allow for changes. The kids and I work as a team. If we are playing outside and the kids don't want to go in and read, I may have them tell stories or have a nature hunt while we are on a walk. We count and work with colors and shapes all day--usually the kids don't know they're learning. We draw on the dry erase board, etch a sketch, color, or do projects daily. We hang pictures on the closet doors and fridge. TV is always limited to child appropriate shows and only for short times such as: in the mornings, as part of a celebration, or when the weather is bad. We listen to CDs and listen to the music channels on the TV for most of the day. As part of our learning we may also watch the Baby Signing Time DVDs, Leap Frog learning DVDs, & the Preschool Prep DVD series. When the weather is nice we play outside, usually several times a day. Here is a poem to welcome you to my home. I heard a saying once that said, if my house is clean at pick up time, than I didn't do my job as a child care provider which is to play, rock babies, kiss boo boos, sing and dance, teach, and entertain. Kids are my job and I take my job seriously!!
