About

Upon arrival at Possibilities Playhouse, the student will have the opportunity to create a character using the wide variety of costume pieces, hats, masks and props in our dressing room.

Once each student (actor) is ready, they will be brought to the stage. The director will begin by leading the students in thoughtfully chosen theatrical games to awaken their imagination and confidence.

After the games are over, the director will read the script, which has been written with blank spaces in which to insert the students' chosen characters. Each class there will be a new script, but since the characters are always changing, no two plays will ever be quite the same.*
Picture
Each script will be based on a theme or moral (i.e. manners or patience) and there will be a song and dance to go with that theme. After the director has read through the script, the students will be taught the song and dance of the day. Then, the students will be invited to take the stage and put it all together. Once the whole play has been rehearsed a few times, the students will put on a performance of the play including the song and dance. This performance will be videotaped and available within 24 hours for viewing on the Possibilities Playhouse YouTube channel.

After the filming of the performance, any students who would like to perform a solo are invited to do so. Solos will also be filmed and viewable online within 24 hours.

*Parents should be aware that because our focus is on the process rather than the product, our daily productions will not be as polished as others they may have seen. That's fine with us! We just want to get those creative juices flowing and have a good time!

Our camps run for three hours either in the morning or afternoon, five days a week, for either one or two week intervals throughout the summer. See our website for more details and to check availability.
