About
It is my goal to provide children with a loving environment that meets their social, emotional and developmental needs. I have always loved working with children. This led me to receive a degree in Early Childhood - Middle School Education from Alverno College. I have since taught grades 4, 5 and 6, and I just completed my 8th year of teaching K4.
In September of 2016, I plan to begin in-home child care. The small, private school I have been teaching at can no longer support its K4 program. I, however, know that I want to continue working with children, and I feel that in-home child care will be a good fit for me. I feel that I will enjoy developing nurturing relationships with the youngest of children who are going through stages of incredible growth and development.
When caring for young children, I believe in a daily rhythm that helps children understand the flow of their day. I believe in imagination and skill building through play based activities. I believe in outside activities and nature. I believe in stories and songs. I believe in art and messes. I believe in having children explore the world through use of all their senses. I want to help young children feel happy, safe, secure and loved.
