Play & Pray Academy

I am a 31 year old sahm of two. I have a 7 year old boy who is starting back to school and a 2 year old girl who stays home with me. My sister in law has started a new job this week and had intentions of leaving her 2 children (3 and 4) that I've been watching with me, but has since ended up finding something closer to her destination. It just isn't feasible for her to drive my direction as she lives closer to dayton. I'm sad b/c I love having kids in my home. I would like to extend an offer to watch 1-3 children in my home from 6am to 6pm.

I am very seasoned in watching littles. I have been watching my niece and nephew while my sister in law has been working on her teaching certification, I volunteer frequently with the xtreme kids activities at crosby church (which means I have had a thorough background check by the way) and I teach sunday school for the 1, 2 and 3 year olds. My son was reading by the age of 4, and my daughter does flash cards daily. I enjoy teaching the absorbing minds while they are still open to learning in a fun way so that they don't realize that they are learning. My son is going to 2nd grade and will probably be reading at the end of the 4th grade level and he's probably never learned in a way that felt like work in his life! I would be willing to help with potty training or anything you would like to achieve with your little one. I am big on boundaries with children. I constantly read about improving my interaction with them to create a positive environment. I never went to college, but I have a learning mind and I enjoy what I do. I like to establish a rewards/consequences system that focuses mainly on positive reinforcement. Strict, but loving. Establishing rules, but showing empathy. I believe children long for structure, but still offer them a fun environment to be kids. Breakfast, lunch, drinks and snacks would be included. Please bring your own diapers and wipes.

I am located on foley road in crosby. I have a trampoline and a swing set in my yard and in the warmer months I have small pools and sprinklers I like to use for fun time. I have an obsession with purchasing teaching tools like play dough, manipulatives, learning videos and activity books. I own a horse and 2 acres of land. Sorry if I'm rambling, I have never put out an ad for home care as I've always had friends and family willing to bring me their children!
