Pigtails And Snails Home Day Care

Welcome to Pigtails and Snails Home Daycare. We are a military family located in Tierrasanta. I am state licensed and approved to offer NACCRRA Operation Military Child Care (OMCC) program, I have also applied to become a CDH provider and am currently waiting on approval. We have two wonderful sons ages 9 and 1 and 2 dogs.

My Philosophy:
That children are precious and must receive care from adults who are capable and caring - whose values enable them to be excellent role models.
That children should experience numerous positive learning milestones, leading to an increased sense of competence and independence.
That children's play is extremely vital to healthy physical development, acceptable social skills, and cognitive growth.
That caregivers, drawing upon their training and experience, must create an enriching environment which carefully guides children from one developmental and cognitive level to another.
That parents contribute to, and enhance the quality of care offered at a daycare center.

Diversity:
I welcome those of diverse faiths, ethnic origins, and race.
I encourage families and members to share with us throughout the year about special occasions, traditions and customs they practice at home.
We can then celebrate appropriately at daycare and incorporate props and materials into the different learning environments that reflect diversity in the above mentioned areas.

Daily Connect:
For all children, I utilize Minute Menu to keep parents up to date with their child's day. As soon as an event is saved, it is immediately synchronized on each parents account. At the end of each day parent's receive a detailed listing of the events of the day, such as, when your child was given a bottle (if applicable), what they ate and drank, when diapers were changed and what it was, their nap schedule, games played and books read and any other pertinent information.
Minute Menu also provides me the opportunity to offer parents automatic payments or pay by credit care options.

Spirituality:
My daycare is non-denominational and does not promote any set doctrine or actively pursue converts to a particular faith. I welcome children from all religious or non-religious backgrounds. Spiritual faith is viewed as an important component to healthy human development. Some times during the week children may learn about different religions and faiths.
