We are a Montessori community with locations in NE & N Portland. Our environments are beautifully prepared for children 3 months to 5 years. We believe that quality childcare and early education is a collaboration between caregiver, family, child and classroom. The children at Peace Tree School benefit from trained and experienced caregivers, a partnership with families and a environment that fosters discovery and exploration. Our individualized and nurturing approach to early education is supported by the Montessori method and Magda Gerber's concept of educating, also referred to as Resources for Infant Educarers or RIE. At Peace Tree, children are given the opportunity to thrive at their own pace and in their own way. Environments are designed to reflect the child's home environment with ample space for freedom of movement and many opportunities for children to gain the skills they need to be independent.
