My message is Dog Training should be fun for you and your puppy or dog!
I am a certified dog trainer: First by PetSmart where I worked as a trainer for more than two years; Second by Animal Behavior College, from which I graduated with honors.
I also volunteer at the SPCA of Tompkins County as a canine companion, dog walker, and trainer of new volunteers.
I believe training should be a fun family experience. I teach you and your family, including children, to train your dog, helping to establish a strong bond.
We can cover obedience training from beginner to advanced.
- beginner training includes things like focus on you, sit, down, how to walk nicely on a leash, leave it, drop it, come when called, stay in a calm, quiet area (home)
- after accomplishing the beginner level, we will do training in different places, positions, with distractions
We can also teach your pup how to behave in the house, including crate training, house-training, polite greeting (sitting nicely, rather than jumping and nipping or mouthing)
I also consult and can help with behavior issues, but will refer you to a trainer more trained and with more experience in major behavior issues if appropriate - I won't waste your money or time.
Cost: $30 per hour; $5 discount if you are a veteran or if you have adopted your dog from the Tompkins or Cortland SPCA.
