Open Arms Child Care is everything you want from a child care center but in a loving home environment.
My philosophy, at Open Arms, is that learning is ongoing. Learning occurs every minute of the day with planned and unplanned activities. Open Arm's curriculum is designed to be developmentally appropriate from infancy through school age. Open Arms encourage social, emotional, cognitive and physical development every day. My program focuses on play and free choice for each child along with a few teacher directed activities. My program strives for a safe and nurturing environment for children to play and grow.
* Open Arms is open from 7:15 a.m. to 5:45p.m.
* I offer home cooked breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
* School Age: Pick up and drop off at Lisby Elementary in Aberdeen.
*Open Arms provides a preschool program from September through May for children ages 2 years old to 5 years old at no additional cost to you and a fun summer program for the summer months.
*I have created a curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices and The Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care.
*Some of the activities include arts & crafts, music, math, science, stories, games, as well as letter, shape, color, and number recognition in a monthly theme format.
*Children under the age of 2 years old will also have a curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices based on the curriculum book Healthy Beginnings.
* I promote flex-learning within a structured daily schedule.
* Offer just summer care WHEN space is available.
