In-Home Daycare

I'm Nichole, AKA, Nikki, owner and operator of Nikki's Family Daycare. I am a mother of two, and a licensed home daycare provider for the State of Massachusetts. Growing up in and around home daycare's, I have always loved the "home-away-from-home" feeling of the home daycare environment, along with the connection between provider and child. This is one of the reasons, I opened my daycare, and has also been a way for me to pay homage to the wonderful women who inspired me growing up; First there is my old provider from when I was a child who I went to throughout elementary school, my daughters old provider who watched both my girls until my oldest started school (she also happens to be my aunts best friend and watched me after school for a time, and I grew up playing with her sons!), and most importantly my Meme're (my grandmother, but everyone, even her daycare kiddos, called her Meme're),
The second, and most important reason for starting Nikki's Family Daycare, are my two girls! I love that I have finally found the right job that allows me to stay at home with them, while still being able to do something I love and helping to support our family financially all at the same time.
At Nikki's Family Daycare, I strive to provide an open environment where your children can feel safe and comfortable to grow, explore, play, and learn. I feel that most learning for young children, especially infants and toddlers, should be about their interests and be as organic as possible. With this in mind, our daily routine is set up to allow the kids to explore learning experiences in their own unique ways. I encourage learning, and find ways to introduce basic concepts through our daily routines. These routines give the children a sense for the order of the day, which has a very calming affect on young children, and should be encouraged at home too! (Timing is not everything, but keeping to the same order as much as possible every day, really is!). I am also a huge believer that reading to kids, as early as newborn, can make one of the biggest impacts in a child's development and life in general. I take every opportunity to read to the kids, from board books, through chapter books (which I like to read at naptime, while they start to rest)
I also love to get the children gathered together and introduce them to Yoga through story books and Cosmic Kids Yoga. I also provide picture messages to give you a feel for your child's day and help you feel connected.
