In-Home Daycare
1770 Grand Ave., Apt. C, San Diego, CA 92109
Hi parents!
My name is Nicole, and I am 27 years old. I am an alumni of the University of San Diego (USD). I majored in psychology and minored in philosophy. I am enthusiastically looking for a family who is in need of a live-in nanny/ sitter/mother's helper/ errand runner! I am available to begin work February 16th, 2016.
Background Info:
I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas (so, yes, I do say the word "y'all" quite often)! I moved to San Diego, CA, in January 2007 to attend the USD. I spent six weeks in the summer of 2008 studying abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico, trying my best to perfect my Spanish. I consider myself to be fairly proficient in Spanish. I am mentioning this because I have always loved teaching people, no matter what age, and I would be more than willing to help your kid(s) engage in learning Spanish.
I also play the piano. I took piano lessons for 12 years. In fact, I still have all my piano books from when I first began lessons (in first grade), so if you have a piano, I would be more than delighted to teach your children how to read music and play the piano.
Ever since I can remember, I have always adored children. I love learning, and I think that may be one reason why I tend to relate to children so well. Kids are always wanting to learn, and they are never afraid to ask questions, such as why? and how come? I have always admired this. Too often, it seems as though people stop asking all the questions they want to know the answers to as they get older, and I feel this is terribly unfortunate.
I began volunteering as a junior camp counselor throughout the summer preceding my sixth grade year, and I continued to volunteer there throughout middle school. This led me to complete a total of 900 hours of community service. Furthermore, I began being paid baby sitter when I was 12 years old. The summer leading into my freshman year of high school I cared for a family with three little girls, ages 6 months, 3 years old and 4 1/2 years old. With that being said, I have had much experience looking after multiple kids of different ages at the same time for an extended time.
Moreover, when I was 14 years old, I began volunteering at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, where I became "sitter trained" and "child-life trained," which was mandated in order for me to become a qualified, certified sitter according to the hospital's standards. I am also CPR, AED, & First Aid certified for infants, adolescents, & adults.
