The Neighbor Network of Northern Nevada (N4) links people and organizations for exchanging services with support and engagement in order to grow strong and healthy communities. N4 has fully inclusive programs in order to serve all citizens living in Northern Nevada. N4 aims to foster sharing of information and resources within and between neighbors and involve all community assets in establishing and nurturing a helpful, caring community utilizing:
1) Time Exchange where neighbors help one another and earntime credits that can be used to receive needed services from any other member. In the time exchange, everyone's time is equal no matter what the service. Exchanges include, but are not limited to, transportation, household tasks, yard maintenance, errands, tutoring, workshops, pet care, elder care, business services, etc. The possibilities are limitless!
2) Volunteer Program opportunities include helping with rides and service exchanges, event coordinating, community outreach, marketing, grant writing, translation, or IT assistance.
3) Information & Referral system that uses an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach to learn about other community programs and services in order to link people to existing resources. Discovering what is already in the community is what makes every program more successful.
4) Social Program makes N4 great by, not only connecting people to more services, but also leading people to more people. N4 believes in getting together (at least monthly) to share, learn, and be a part of a positive community! Members meet-up at local restaurants, community events, workshops, potlucks, etc.
5) NEW! Community Care Program matches individuals with trained staff to receive in-home and community-based intermittent support. Services include respite services for family caregivers, companionship, recreational and social activities, and non-medical help in the home. N4 prioritizes individualized support in order to help people stay active and engaged with their community.
