New in home daycare opening in Hazlet! I have five openings for families interested in home based Montessori style daycare. My son and I have been practicing Montessori methods and I am in the beginning stages of having my den converted to a classroom. We are beginning to take in pre-school age children while adding to our Montessori-syle apparatus and leaning toys. I am offering a full day of child care for $50 for seven hours, or $10 per hour, whichever meets your family's needs the best. Any extra hours are $10/hour. Each additional child is only $10 more per day each, or $3 per hour. We certainly also welcome older children for after school programs but we are not currently fully set up for Montessori learning for the older children. My daughters are 9 and 12 and their routine is snack, homework then free play. We have a large fenced in backyard with pool, swingset, playhouse and trampoline. All children must be potty-trained. A healthy, gluten-free lunch and a snack are provided. We only use all natural cleaners in our home. We raise Ragdoll cats so I encourage you to visit first with your children if you are concerned they may have a reaction. My husband has allergies himself but is completely fine with the Ragdolls. Most are usually kept separate but there are often one or two roaming around for petting pleasure. The kids will be able to brush and care for them if they wish. These cats LOVE people and children and are amazingly gentle.
I need to make it clear that I am NOT a licensed Montessori daycare, we practice Montessori-style learning in our home. You get the bonus of this style of learning but without the school's price. I am completely self taught and we are always building on our collection and methods. We do free play in the morning with the learning toys, naptime for kids still taking a nap, (although kids are free to nap any time they wish) then we all get lunch together, we clean up then go outside for the afternoon when the weather permits, and do crafts if it doesn't. We do not watch TV during the day but kids are allowed access to learning games on the iPad. I love Montessori but I also like to keep things progressive and up to date if it aids in their learning experience. The children are on a fairly predictable routine which greatly alleviates any stress. They know what to expect next and they have a better sense of when Mommy or Daddy or Grandma (etc) will be back for them.
