Natural Learners Academy

Ms. Zuvanich has been working with children and their families for 15 years. From those living in homeless shelters in Chicago, to managing a room of 10 one year olds in a church daycare in Oklahoma City, to teaching childrens' yoga classes in Overland Park, KS, and beyond. She opened her own home daycare in Grandview Missouri in June 2010, and called it Playhouse Childcare.
In 2012, Ms. Zuvanich transitioned from a full-time childcare provider and business owner to a full-time yoga teacher and studio owner. But family life felt out of balance as she spent her days and nights away from home, managing the yoga studio late into the evening.
After careful consideration, Haley and her family decided to re-open Playhouse Childcare with a new name and a new location. Natural Learners Academy is now located at their home, with an acre lot for children to roam on and right by Kritser Park.
It is her hope that Natural Learners Academy will provide much-needed childcare services to an under-served population, offering sliding scale fees to make childcare affordable for all.
Beyond affordability, she aims to provide top-notch educational experiences that are nature-based, with outdoor play and a Waldorf-style experience being tantamount.
Local, organic and from-scratch are the 3 guidelines of the weekly menu. Kids will gather eggs, help bake bread, and learn to cook all manner of meals over a campfire at Natural Learners Academy. Math, Science, Art and Literature will also be studied through methods of play and hands-on experiences.
