National Youth Advocate Program

Foster Parents are urgently needed to provide homes for kids and teens in foster care. We are seeking individuals and couples in Lee, Charlotte, Collier and Hendry/Glades Counties to become licensed foster parents.

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) supports our foster families throughout the process. From inquiry, to licensing, to child placement, a member of the NYAP team is here to support you.

You don't have to be perfect, to be a perfect parent for a child or teen in need of a caring adult and a supportive home!

Benefits for NYAP's Enhanced/Therapeutic Foster Family Providers:

· Daily Tax-Free Stipend

· $40.00 to $50.00/per child (varies according to child's/teen's needs)

About the person NYAP wants to be one of our Therapeutic Foster Parents:

· You are compassionate, energetic and enjoy working within a team

· You are supportive, flexible, and have a passion for helping children in foster care and their families

· You are open, accept support and are willing to learn and grow in order to best support kids and teens in the foster care system

· You are interested in opening your own home to a child or teen in Florida's foster care system

Reimbursement:

· Enhanced/Therapeutic Foster Parents receive an annual tax-free stipend

· Foster parents also receive a stipend to provide clothing

· Children and teens in foster care receive Florida health benefits

As a NYAP Foster Parent:

· You are the primary caregiver to children who are unable to safely reside with their biological parents, family or legal guardian

· You provide a safe, and nurturing home while supporting family reunification & family visits

· You will be responsible to oversee medical appointments, medication administration, transportation to and from appointments, and activities, as well as the day-to-day and direct care of the child/children or teen/s place in your home

· You will also oversee the child's educational needs
