Disorganized, behind schedule, unsafe feeling. Plus almost impossible to get into the parking lot, lol.

I took my 9 year old cat Baxter to Dr. Waldrop because the vet I was seeing was not getting any answers. He was throwing up, losing a lot of weight, not eating well, and had behavior changes. I explained in detail that price was not an issue to solve this problem; I just needed to know as this cat is family. I took all the previous records, X-rays, etc., for his entire life to him. He kept getting worse. Losing more weight. He had an ultrasound done and it said that he had sludge in his gall bladder and a swollen lymph node. Several times, I specifically asked about cancer. Didn't think so, he said. Thyroid possibly even though his thyroid were at all times in the normal range. He prescribed predisone which caused his glucose levels to be over three times the normal range. At that time, I thought he cured one problem and added another. He gave him medicine to help with the glucose but it made him sicker or so I thought. Less than a week after he was on the medicine, emergency visit to ER because his breathing is labored and his temperature fluctuating. Bax was in distress. They had to put him in an oxygen tent and try to stabilize him. Within less than 3 hours, I had the answer I spent months with Dr. Waldrop trying to find. Cancer as I had asked him so many times about. He will be in ICU until we can get him stabilized enough to come home. Over a thousand dollars and he missed the entire mark.

Perhaps he is good for shots, etc.. but when your cat truly needs a professional, this is the VERY last place I would go. My little cat and I have been through a lot together. He was there with me when my husband died at 59 and I was 52 when a lot of people were not. He always met me at the door and came when I whistled. I will be there for him during this time as well.

The only problem is that Dr. Waldrop was not. He didn't even bother to call when I asked for the records after I told them he had cancer. I guess the money train ended for him and he moved on to the next guy.

He didn't cause the cancer and I know it is not curable. We could have had better quality of life for a while though had he known what he was doing. We would have done any test he asked done and was told this many, many times. One X-ray and problem revealed. Additionally, he completely overlooked that the predisone hides cancer or that his lympocite blood work more than doubled from the previous vet to his blood work.

If you cat is sick, and you want him to die sooner, go here.

Dr. Waldrop obviously has a love of cats. His diagnostic skills are excellent; I've never found him to be wrong in diagnosing my cats through the years,

His prices may seem excessive at first glance. However, when I think of the times I've taken my cats to other clinics closer to me (I live about 25 miles from Nashville Cat Clinic) I often have to take the cat to Dr. Waldrop any way because other vets do not get to the root of the problem, and Dr. Waldrop always does. It's therefore understandable that a cat specialist would charge more.

Other personnel at the facility are helpful and courteous.

This is a the place to take your cat for the best care in town.
