In-Home Daycare

Philosophy
Building strong foundations for a strong future.
We do this by providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where development, education, and play happen simultaneously throughout a child's day. We believe that our focus should be on a child's physical, social/emotional, cognitive, and language development as well as engaging the individual in a responsive learning environment. We encourage parents to be an active member in their child's care and education and we work directly with parents in fostering a positive relationship between home and daycare goals.
Mission
The mission of Nana's Little Hands and Feet Child Care is to provide quality, safe, and dependable early care and education, following developmentally appropriate practices, for young children and their families in our community.
Self-esteem is a critical component to optimal growth in young children. We also focus on developing the socialization and self-help skills needed to have a positive self-image.
It is equally as important that your child develops important values such as: love for God, good manners, caring/sharing, patience, responsibility, compassion for self and others, as well as communication and teamwork.
Focusing on these components will give your child a strong foundation to build a strong future.
Certification
Keystone Stars and Certificate of Compliance
NLHF is inspected annually by the Department of Public Welfare (DPW), and we meet all compliance requirements for a certificate of compliance as a group home childcare. These regulations are important for the safety of each child.
All staff has obtained appropriate credentials and are continuing on-going training in childcare. Staffing is determined by the number of children enrolled and follows the Department of Public Welfare staffing ratios.
In addition to the annual DPW inspection, we are also annually inspected by Keystone Stars. We have been awarded our Star 2 designation. Our long-term goal is to become a Star 4 (the highest ranking) with National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation.
All staff is required to have criminal background checks, child-abuse and FBI fingerprint record clearances, as well as biannual health appraisals and an initial TB test. All staff is also pediatric first aid certified and receive a minimum of 15 annual hours of professional development trainings related to their duties as early childhood educators.
