I have just retired from CU Denver but for the past 23 years I have home cared for my mother who was aphasic and partially paralyzed. With the care given I would bath and groom her daily. She was a diabetic who took insulin so I also administered her meds. The last three years of my mother's life she could not swallow so I had to tube feed her with the nurses visiting twice on a weekly basis. I transported my mother to all her appts which meant I learned how to transfer a handicap person from wheelchair to bed,etc. I cleaned her home and set the home up accordingly to her needs.
