My Peaceful Refuge

My Peaceful Refuge, is an Adult Foster Care residential home in addition to offering adult day care services designed to enhance the growth and development, quality of life and independence of residents through activities of daily living, involvement in Motivational Workshops, devotion and/or day program opportunities. We strive to help residents maintain their highest possible level of functioning. It is our goal to keep residents alert, independent and content. Our caring and qualified staff is available on-site 24 hours a day, as well as an on-call nurse consultant. We partner with agencies to provide additional value-added services such as podiatry and visiting nurses. Transportation services are also available. Resident Group Served:
Developmentally disabled, elderly, Insulin injected diabetics, hearing impaired and those who require assistance and supervision with activities of daily living. We are able to care for mildly confused residents as long as unsafe wandering or elopement is not a problem.

Residents Health:
Each new resident must provide a Health Care Appraisal signed by their doctor or registered nurse along with a COVID-19 test prior to admission.

Our services include but not limited to the following:
1. Protection, 24-hour supervisions, room and boards, laundry, housekeeping, recreation, health monitoring, assessments and care plans of resident's physician and dietician.
2. Medication management and administration
3. Nutritional/therapeutic meals: Three meals and One snack are provided
4. Personal Care assistance with activities of daily living, grooming, eating, and toileting as needed
5. Daily activity programming; game room, arts and crafts, motivational workshops
6. Comfortable common areas for reading, cable television and rear deck
7. Registered Nurse Consultant: with on-call coverage 7 days a week, 24 hours a day

Smoking:
My Peaceful Refuge is a smoke-free home. Smoking is only allowed outside in the backyard and 4 feet away from the entrance door. Smoking of marijuana or medical marijuana or any other drug is prohibited.

Visiting:
COVID-19 restrictions will be maintained in compliance with the State of Michigan guidelines. Visits must be scheduled in advance.

Laundry:
All clothing that is to be laundered by the facility will be marked with the resident's name

Personal Items:
We encourage residents to bring personal items such as furnishings, pictures, etc. We believe that this is your home and therefore your tastes and personal items are important to your happiness. If you cannot provide your own bedroom furnishings, we can provide this for you. We do request that all items that need to be hung be done by our staff.
