Ms. Jen's Childcare

I have many years of experience in childcare from 11 years old. I have worked for a large preschool in Ridgway and I had my own business (LLC) also in Ridgway. I moved to Montrose in 2014 and did not renew my license however I am looking for 1 family who needs childcare. I love children and I teach through play. I believe that the early years should feel more like a loving home environment rather than a "school". By teaching through play I start with basics (depending on the age of the child). We learn skills required to become as independent as possible for the age they are when they begin coming to my home. From infants learning to hold and manipulate toys to learning to crawl, walk, talk, share, communicate etc. I use baby sign language as I speak to the babies which helps eliminate frustration when they do not have the vocal words for what they are trying to say. As they get older we learn colors, shapes, letters, numbers, animal names and sounds, body parts (head, shoulders, knees and toes), playing with learning toys, ie blocks, books, toy animals, crafts, coloring, writing their name and much more. My life had been filled with children and I feel it is my calling and such a joy to have the privilege to be a part of so many children's lives. I have many references who would be glad to tell you how they and their children have benefited from being under my care. My hours are 7:45-5:30 mon-fri. Please call for more information.
