Ms. Cynthia's Neighborschool

We have been providing a safe and nurturing environment for children since 2008. Parents' minds are at ease when they go to work or school, knowing that their child is cared for in all aspects of their developmental needs. We are a curriculum-based program. Because of my background in public and private schools, I've been able to work with teachers to learn what they need children to be prepared for when they enter school. Using this information, we mimic how a preschool classroom is. We have a structured schedule, with circle time, teaching them how to sit and share, and more, similar to a school setting but with age-appropriate learning. We have recess, art, music, and every day we do something educational, from math, reading, science, and more. We also do ongoing assessments and share this information with parents so we can work together in supporting their child's needs where they need assistance, while helping them master what they already know. We focus on supporting children's 5 important developmental domains such as Cognitive, Social/Emotional, Gross Motor, Fine Motor, and Language/Communication.

We also value encouraging participation whenever possible, so even if we have a newborn - if the child is awake then we have them sit with us during activities like circle time. While they can't be verbal, they can still absorb the atmosphere and be hearing, seeing, and learning. We believe less is more, so we have a larger adult to children ratio than other child care programs. This maintains a calm and controlled environment when we don't exceed the number of children per adult ratio, and allows for individualized attention, which is essential. We love having kids of all ages, races, and genders because while we can focus on them as individuals, they also have the opportunity to grow up in a diverse setting.
