Ms. Cindy's Neighborschool

My goal always is and has been to make sure children leave my program equipped with all the skills they need for life and to be ready to enter a bigger classroom. I strive towards this goal by focusing on each child specifically. In my home, the kids have a safe place to be, something to eat, all of their needs met, plus all of the fun learning tools to have them ready for school and life. Family engagement is also very important to me. I love when parents come visit the program, whether they're coming to read or they have a special skill they can share with us. Overall, I want the child to get a holistic approach, so it's critical that what I'm doing in my program and what parents do at home support one another. One of my favorite activities that we do is a zoo day. Every summer, parents and children and I have lunch in the park, visit the zoo, and make a fun day out of it. At the end of the school year, we also will have parents come and enjoy some of my cooking. I try to do as much as I can to ease parents' minds and give them some fun too.
