Mosaic Christian Home Childcare

I have been working with children for over 20 years. For the past eight years of them I have been running a Registered Home Daycare and for about a year and a half around 2010, two foster children came to live in my home. I have an Associate s degree in Early Child Development and I am presently pursuing two Certificates in Business Entrepreneurship at HCC Continuing Education. My plan is to continue my education and professional commitment in order to promote children s learning and growth in all four developmental domains, physically, social, emotional and cognitive.

I am zealous about teaching children, watch them grow and develop. My job is to be a facilitator, construct an environment that fosters learning by providing exciting materials, creating a relaxed atmosphere, stimulating conversation and providing ample ways for the students to explore, and create. Problem solving is promoted by encouraging children to use their own words to communicate their needs and feelings. I highly encourage self help and independence. Through modeling, I encourage mutual respect, respect to their peers, the environment, the materials and the adults. According to what Laura E Berk states in Infants, Children and Adolescents, page 382, Children learn to behave morally largely through modeling, by observing and imitating people who demonstrate appropriate behavior.
