Montessori Discovery School

Montessori Discovery School is open Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We serve children from age 2 through age 6 with Half Day, School Day, Extended Day and Full Day schedules.
The Twos class maintains a low teacher:child ratio of 1:5 and provides opportunities for social skills, language development, small and large motor activity and potty training.
The Preschool Class is mixed age grouping from 3 to 6 years, in 3 classrooms with 3 teachers; maximum 30 children. One classroom is devoted to art and practical life activities. Another classroom offers activities in math and sensorial work. The third classroom focuses on reading and writing skills.
Our Jr. Kindergarten program meets, and exceeds!, the expectations of a transitional kindergarten (TK) class. The children moving on to Kindergarten the following school year, whether they miss the September 1 age deadline or not, are guided through individualized lessons in reading, writing and math. They are part of the preschool class, but their work day is more directed.
Overall, our school values respect. We respect your chld's need for independence, shallenge, nurturing and expression. We provide ample space and time with clear boundaries and supportive schedules to facilitate learning. From the children in return, we expect respect for us, the other children and the facility.
