The Montessori Academy of Farmington Hills provides children with a supportive learning experience that enables them to achieve academic success, as well as become well-balanced individuals. We believe that learning is a lifelong adventure. Here at MAFH, we develop confidence in children enabling them to face each day with their minds open to knowledge and their hearts open to love. We encourage our students to experience the freedom to wonder, ask, explore, imagine and create.

Our strong academic program includes the fundamentals of a Montessori education, as well as a top-notch language arts and math curriculum. It is truly an environment that fosters excellence among our students. The 'prepared environment', scientifically designed to support the sensitive period of the child, is one of the main tasks of teachers to create. Each student learns from this environment as he/she works at his/her own individual rhythm. Areas of the prepared environment include:

-Practical Life- for developing concentration and coordination
Sensorial- to sort the impressions of the senses
-Math- to develop the logical mind
-Science & Nature- to learn about the wonders of the world from botany to zoology

-Music, Art & Movement- to express the inner life
-Physical Education- to learn cooperation and to develop gross motor skills

Our Montessori curriculum also includes lessons in Spanish, music, dance, computers, basketball and summer swimming.
