I have always loved children! Their sweet innocence deserves patience, nurturing and loving guidance. I've been taking care of babies since I was 7 when my little sister was born, although obviously my skills and abilities were limited then! I babysat for my aunt's and neighbor's children as a teenager, starting at age 13, and often for free because I enjoyed it. Since then, I have had 3 children of my own, ages 20, 7 and 4, and they are all joyful blessings to me!

It has always puzzled me that some people get frustrated with fussy babies, because I find it easy to calm them. It's a process of elimination as to their unhappiness, so you simply have to check off all the boxes (hungry, soiled, bored, over-stimulated, sick, etc.)

Whether babies or older children, I believe children need consistency and structure in a nurturing environment to thrive, as well as positive influences to guide them. As an adult, I have babysat off and on as needed, and all of my friends and family know that I am always available to them. I am now at the point in my life where I am able to offer myself on a part-time basis to assist others in caring for their children, so I have decided to register with Care.com in the hopes that I will be able to do so.
