Miss Rachel K.

At Miss Rachel's house, I provide a fun active day full of learning for your littles! In the summer time, we are always outside whether it be in the cul-de-sac on scooters, bikes or playing tag. I have a lovely fenced in backyard where we can swing, jump on the little trampoline or play with balls, trucks, or run through the sprinklers. Both yards are heavily shaded so everybody stays nice and cool. We often adventure to the park or open space near by with our neighbors daycare ensuring these little bugs socialize and exercise! Shelley the tortoise lives nearby and visiting is always a fun opportunity to talk about our favorite animals!
Learning is an important part of everybody's day, young and old. I introduce a new letter, number and color each week and engage in fun activities involving each topic. Story time is a must and each child is asked to select a book which I enthusiastically read with/to the group. We talk about the morals, feelings, and images in each story.
Nap time is a quiet relaxing time where all of the littles can re-energize. I have plenty of cool, quiet, and safe space for the kiddos to rest their heads. Some kids need more help falling asleep and I am more than happy to assist promoting a structured sleep routine.
Healthy snacks are provided throughout the day as well as a healthy, home cooked lunch complete with a protein, fruit and vegetable. I try my best to introduce new flavors and textures to expand the palettes of our so there is adventure in eating as well. We do enjoy some classic though, because sometimes we all need a pizza day!
A bit about Miss Rachel. I am a 35 year old mother to a funny and loving toddler boy, and we love the routine we have created during our days together. My child has speech therapy once a week, but we have taught him to use a combination of signs and words so that we can help him learn to communicate. Dad, Matthew, is working in the basement in his office because of Covid-19. He works for a not-for-profit financial institute helping a wide range of people save for retirement. I have made the decision to return to in-home daycare for similar reasons, after being furloughed from my long career in the restaurant industry.
Having your child in our home means they are family. We do hugs, high fives, and say "I love you" often. We can laugh, cry, or just have a to our self day if needed. It is an honor to help families raise their children along side my own.
