I have recently retired from my job as the director of a faith-based, state licensed child care center in O'Fallon, Il. I have my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, and have been working in the early childhood field for 30 years. My husband is a pastor. We are the proud parents of two grown children and the extremely excited grandparents of one granddaughter!
While I have enjoyed my time as director, I am looking forward to being home more and spending more time with my family. Even though I have retired from the daycare center, I hope to continue my career in early childhood through caring for a few children in my home. I am looking forward to spending my time as a "hands-on" care giver after so many years in administration.
I am not a licensed home daycare, so I will only be caring for three children. I have my DCFS background check, physical, my infant/child CPR and First Aid license, my Food Service Sanitation license, and my training certificate for the prevention of SIDS. I play the guitar and piano, and love doing music with little ones! I believe that children learn best through hands-on experience and play, and I enjoy setting up the environment and planning activities that encourage young children to explore and create.
