Available 6 am - 6 pm for care of infants - teens in safe, nurturing, no-pets, no-smoking home with a fenced back yard play area, in a quiet neighborhood in the Half Hollow Hills School District. Before and after school/camp, or all day care are available. Meals, snacks and help with homework provided. CPR and 1st aid certified. Experience with special needs.
I spend a lot of time helping children learn to get along well with each other by learning to communicate, negotiate and solve problems. Children learn how to ask for a toy instead of grabbing, wait for what they want and resolve differences with words rather than fists. They learn to cooperate, take turns, and care for the feelings of others.
I teach Baby Sign Language to infants starting at about 6 months. This lowers frustration and allows babies and toddlers to express their needs before they are ready to speak verbally. Because I know what they want, I can satisfy their needs more quickly, making a much calmer environment. When they start to verbalize, they stop using the signs.
