I offer in home childcare for children who have special needs such as allergies, asthma, eczema, special diet, etc. I know first hand how difficult it is to find quality care when your child suffers from immune system problems. My oldest son who is turning 18 years old next month has severe life threatening allergies. I could not put him in a daycare or preschool. It was also hard to find an in home child care that didn't have pets or that had knowledge of severe allergies. Many people did not know how to give an epi pen for anaphalactic shock or recognize early signs of an asthma attack. Because of my son, my home is as allergen free as you can get. No furry or feathered pets. No perfumes or scented candles. Dye and perfume free detergent and soaps. I am very conscious of ingredients in foods and recipes since my son has many food allergies. I keep my windows and doors closed to avoid pollen and fresh cut grass from bothering him. I always have benadryl on hand and I own two nebulizers for breathing treatments. I'm certified in CPR and First Aid as well.
A little about myself, I'm a mom of three wonderful children ages 17, 13, and 2 years old. When my 13 year old daughter was younger, I became a preschool teacher where she attended. I really enjoyed teaching Pre K and was sad when I had to move away because of military relocation to Ft Carson CO. I moved back to this area some years ago and since the birth of my 2 year old son, I became a stay at home mom. It would be nice for my son to have a few playmates, so I have decided to open my home to a few children. I offer a warm, safe and caring environment for your child where they can learn and play. We will do circle time, read books, do arts and crafts, playtime, and trips to the library with your permission. I would also like to do small field trips if parents feel comfortable to places like Chocolate world, Zoo America, State museum, Whitaker Center, and other similar places. All meals and snacks will be provided. I offer fresh fruits and vegetables daily and try to buy all natural and organic foods when possible.
