Miss Carrie's Child Care

I have been a licensed family child care provider and owner of Miss Carrie's Child Care since 2000. My mission statement is "To make a difference in the world through the lives of children with love and education." I believe that if every child has love and education in their lives, they can achieve anything.

I believe educators and families work as a team to raise a happy, healthy child. All children are special and have great possibilities. They thrive in an environment where they are loved, protected, stimulated, given responsibilities, and guidelines/rules to follow. Children are unique and learn in diverse ways. I work hard to recognize this, meet children where they are, and help them to reach new heights. I believe in a play-based curriculum, helping children develop socially and emotionally, and preparing for them kindergarten and the future.

I currently have an Experienced Child Care license, a level 4 Colorado Shines rating, a level 6 Colorado Early Childhood Professional Credential, an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, and am director and lead-teacher qualified. As well as loving to educate and care for young children, I love to learn! I am always actively looking for and completing new education as well as looking for ways to improve my program and quality of care I provide.

I provide full-time, part-time, and drop-in care from 3 months to 5 years. Drop-in care is based on current availability and only provided for families who are currently enrolled in my program (must interview, be accepted into my program, and have all required paperwork on file). I provide a professionally designed preschool program that is aligned with Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines, parent-teacher conferences, child assessments, well balanced and nutritious meals, a dedicated child care area, and huge outdoor play area where we spend a lot of time year-round.

I serve on the board of directors for Jefferson County Child Care Assoc. and am a member of the Colorado Assoc. of Family Child Care, the National Assoc. of Family Child Care, and Kids Nutrition Company food program. I also participate in the Triad Early Childhood Council as well as local collaborative and advisory boards related to early childhood education and health issues. I believe in being a professional in my field and helping others in the process.
