Michele Harkins cleaning service - A CURSORY JOB AT BEST filled with Bulls**t ...DO NOT HIRE!
I spoke with Michele Harkins by phone & told her that I needed a deep cleaning of my empty bi-level apartment. I told her that the previous tenant smoked & burned sage so the wood floors & walls were sooty & needed a deep thorough cleaning.
Michele came to my rental property with her helper to do the cleaning & parked in the driveway that I share with my neighbor. I pointed to assorted places I wanted cleaned (like the pocket door to the bathroom). She said ok & I left them to the job. I returned at the agreed time & noticed that my neighbor's metal railing next to the driveway was lying on their stairs. I went in & checked a few spots on the 2nd floor, but did not check the 3rd floor before I paid them & they left. I made my way to see the 3rd floor & saw that almost nothing had been cleaned. I took photos & texted them to Michele 20 mins later. She said she would return to clean the 3rd floor for free. That night, my neighbor called to tell me about her broken railing. I told her that we would check our security cameras & get back to her. The cameras revealed that MICHELE HAD DRIVEN INTO THE RAILING, KNOCKING IT DOWN & SAID NOTHING! She knew she did it because she inspected the exterior of her car after the event.
She did return to finish the cleaning of the 3rd floor. Before she left I confronted her about the broken railing. She said that she did not do that...I showed her the video. I told her that my husband took the railing to a welder to be repaired & that it would cost $180.00 for the repair & my husband's reinstallation of the railing...She agreed to pay & asked me to send an invoice.
She told me that she did not clean the dishwasher because it had broken glass in it. After she left, my husband & I looked more carefully...yes she polished the stainless steel fridge, but POLISHED OVER THE DIRT! The wood floors were hazy & the sooty walls were still sooty (less so, but still sooty). The base of the toilet was clean on 1 side, but not clean on the side that faced the wall.
It took a couple of weeks for my husband to pick up, paint & reinstall the railing. I sent Michele the invoice for the agreed $180.00 along with photos of the railing broken, fixed & then reinstalled. She said that she told her bank to send me payment at the beginning of August (NO PAYMENT CAME). I contacted her & she said that she was on vacation & would return Mon. I contacted her on Mon, & asked her to fulfill her promise & pay her debt. Then she started asking for more documentation. I sent her the video & said if she didn't pay by the end of the work week that I would post an honest review of her & her work also that I may take her to small claims court regarding the broken railing. To this day she continues to stall & not pay for the damage done! In short, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS WOMAN OR HER WORK!
