Mi Escuelita

Mi Escuelita Bilingual Preschool & Daycare takes a whole child approach to elementary education. Teachers, administrators, counselors, and support staff work together to meet the intellectual, social, behavioral, and emotional needs of each and every child we serve.

For our full time curriculum we cover letters, writing, readiness skills, manners, movement, mathematics, science/health, reading (story time), music, social studies, crafts, bible story (optional).
For letters we learn our vowels first then all our abc, we practice how to write it and the sounds, we also learn words that start which the letter we learn each week.
For readiness skills, we prepare children to behave in classroom settings, to stay in their seats when asked to do so, to raise their hand when they have a question, to speak in their turn, to share with others, etc.
For manners we ALWAYS practice to say thank you, please, excuse me, I am sorry, speak respectfully to adults as well as classmates, ETC
For movement during the very cold or very hot days we will do activities inside the house such as dancing, jumping, aerobics for kids, etc. During the nice day we go outside play with balls, run, go to the park, play sports, etc.
For mathematics we learn shapes, numbers, signs, basic sums, colors.
For Science and health we learn the importance of washing our hands, the parts of the body, animals, the weather, names of flowers, by exploring inside and outside the daycare.
Storytime we will have a story of the bible and/or a story book everyday, we talk about the book and finish with a craft related to the book.
We listen to classical music throughout the day as it has proven to open the children's mind to learning and we will learn songs in Spanish while using homemade instruments.
We learn everything in Spanish, that is what immersion in the language means.

There is no TV involved!
