Hi there! My name is Melanie, I am 31 years old and I offer childcare in my home located in the Springfield / Ellet area of Akron conveniently just off Rt.224. My educational background includes Bachelor's degrees from the University of Akron in both Psychology and Sociology and a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of New England. I have taken extensive coursework and training in child development and childhood behaviors. My professional experience includes several years of caring for children in my home and also working outside the home in child welfare with foster/adoptive parents and children. Plus I am a mother of 4, so I have seen it all ! I understand that not all parents have the option of staying home with their children so I offer an affordable childcare option `in my home for parents who do not feel comfortable with traditional daycare. I strive to go the extra mile to give you peace of mind when you cannot be with your child. I communicate daily with parents via either a written report or I have the ability to sync a digital report to your phone or work computer so you are always aware of what your child is doing while in my care! I have plenty of toys for both indoor and outdoor play and I love doing arts and crafts! I have several safe and appropriate places for naps and will work with you to recreate your child's preferred sleeping environment in my home.
