I provide a caring, supportive in-home setting where your infant or toddler will thrive in a very small group. I'm committed to having no more than 3 children in my care so that I'm able to provide lots of individualized attention, comfort & support toeach one. <br/> <br/>I find it incredibly rewarding to help babies & young kids learn new skills and behaviors. In my down time I read books, articles, & other research about childhood development to make sure I'm doing all I can to help them grow into the best little people they can be. My daughter is a joy to be around--very alert, high-energy...& maybe bit headstrong(!), so I've also learned different techniques to help keep her happy, engaged, & well-mannered. I'm so proud of the little girl she's turning out to be, & it excites me to help other little ones along their journey as well. As a child, I spent many years attending an in-home daycare run by an amazing caregiver who felt like family to me, & that's the same care I hope to provide for others. <br/> <br/>After spending 15 years in a fast-paced, high energy professional position, I'm taking time off to stay home with my daughter, who's just under 2 years old. I'm passionate about caring for children of all ages; I've worked with children in some capacity for the past 20 years. I'm the oldest of 4, the youngest of whom is 20 years my junior, & I was a nanny for a family with 4 kids (ages 2 mos-12 yrs) for 5+ years, providing daily & some overnight care. I also provided babysitting care to several families throughout high school & college (ages 2-8), & in adulthood, I've always been the first to offer care to my friends who need help with their kids--I'll find any excuse to spend time with little ones! <br/> <br/>I use redirection & positive reinforcement as my disciplinary tactics, I'm skilled at getting infants & toddlers on consistent schedules, and I also have extensive experience with supportive sleep training (not ever cry-it-out). I live in a fantastic neighborhood with its own park, as well as a nearby library & walking trail; I spend a lot of time reading with the kids throughout the day, playing with educational and age-appropriate toys, and we also visit the Denver Zoo & the Museum of Nature and Science frequently. <br/> <br/>As a consideration to those with allergies or sensitivities, I have 2 dogs who are outside during the day, and 2 cats who stay inside.
