Before starting Tactical Tutoring, your child is given a FREE assessment to identify his/her strengths and challenges. Because the foundations of academic success are reading, writing, math, and study skills, these are the foci of the assessments. Not only do we assess, his/her achievement in reading, writing, and math, we also assess his/her learning style. Moreover, the plan is developed after interviews with you, review of work samples, and other documentation (e.g. IEPs, if available) of your child's educational background. These assessments allow us to create an individualized program to develop the skills your child needs. Once tutoring has begun, your child receives frequent assessments to ensure that your child is making good progress. The strategies used are research-based and are selected to help your child with specific challenges.
