About
Maple Hill Child Care is located in a country setting in Northfield MA. Our lovely yard has a nice mix of sun and shade, with many flowers and trees. The play area has climbers, swings, sand/water play for the children to enjoy.
The indoor play areas are located on the first floor of my home. The sunny playrooms are set-up like preschool classrooms, but with a comfortable and homey atmosphere. Our child care uses a children's interest-based program, where children play and learn at their own pace.
Our daily schedule is structured yet flexible, to allow time for individual needs. (An example would be, if a child is in the middle of painting at the easel, and the next scheduled activity is outdoor play, we would go outdoors a few minutes later, when the painting is completed.)
I am Director II/Lead Teacher certified with an A.S. degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been a child care provider for over 20 years, and truly enjoy working with children and families. Children often remain in the program for several years, so families sometimes form relationships that last into the school years. It's also comforting to have these close friends when entering elementary school.
